WHO WE ARE
- Global Network of Nonprofit Organizations
- Non-Religious – Men of all faiths and no faith are welcome.
- Inclusive – Men of all backgrounds, orientations, ages, and abilities are welcome.
The ManKind Project has a presence in more than 21 nations. The ManKind Project (MKP) is a global brotherhood of nonprofit charitable organizations [501 (c)(3) in the USA] that conducts challenging and highly rewarding programs for men at every stage of life. The ManKind Project currently has 11 regions: Australia, Belgium, Canada, French Speaking Europe, Germany, New Zealand, Nordic (Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland), South Africa, Switzerland, the United Kingdom & Ireland, and the United States. There are also a number of developing regions: Costa Rica, Mexico, Netherlands, China, India, and the Central Africa (DRC, Cameroon).
The ManKind Project supports a global network of over 1,000 peer-facilitated men’s groups serving close to 10,000 men each week. In an MKP men’s group, men mentor men through the passages of their lives.
The ManKind Project empowers men to missions of service, supporting men to make a difference in the lives of others – men, women, and children around the world. We help men through any transition, men at all levels of success, men facing almost any challenge. Our flagship training, is described by many as the most powerful men’s training available: New Warrior Training Adventure. The ManKind Project (MKP) is not affiliated with any religious practice or political party. We strive to be increasingly inclusive and affirming of cultural differences, especially with respect to color, class, sexual orientation, faith, age, ability, ethnicity, and nationality.
The easiest way to find out more is to talk to men and women whose lives have been affected by MKP. If you would like to connect to people in your local area, please see our Communities Page

The Impact We Create
The ManKind Project helps create the most essential thing a man can have for health, success, and life-satisfaction: authentic relationships. The benchmark Harvard Grant and Glueck Studies, which began studying cohorts of men in 1940, and which continue to this day, found that the quality of men’s close personal relationships over a lifetime were the best predictor of health, success, and longevity. We believe that giving men real tools to improve themselves and their relationships will have lasting and profound impacts for our communities and the planet.

Peer Reviewed Research
Between 2006 and 2010, we conducted research on the impact of the NWTA on participating men. Men were surveyed on measures for Depression, Conflict between Work and Family, Life Satisfaction, MKP Values/Ideology/Growth, Restrictive Affectionate Behavior Between Men, Restrictive Emotionality, Success Power and Conflict, and Social Support, prior to participation and one week, six months, approx. one year, and two years afterward. The results revealed significant changes in men’s attitudes and behaviors more than a year after the training program. Ryan Stanga, one of the researchers who worked on the study said,
“In short, one year after attending the NWTA, attendees consistently reported improved scores on measures of Depression, Conflict between Work and Family, Life Satisfaction, MKP Beliefs/Ideology/Growth, Restrictive Affectionate Behavior Between Men, and Restrictive Emotionality as compared to their reported scores before the NWTA. These same improvements were maintained when the same scales were measured two-years after attending the NWTA. Each of those scales are described in the paper.”
“What it means is that we can say with some increased confidence that what we do on the weekend is meaningful and has impact. This is not just anecdotal or our impression, but is confirmed by data.”
Peer-reviewed findings from this research was published in “The American Journal of Community Psychology” (Volume 45, Numbers 1-2, 186-200) and the “Journal of Self-Help and Self Care” (Vol 8, No. 1).
Existing research and survey data has enabled us to adapt our curriculum to better serve a more diverse population, to refine our protocols for relevance over time, and to customize our follow-up efforts to provide effective integration for men after attending the New Warrior Training Adventure.
Additional measures would allow us to further refine our program offerings and continue the expansion and development of curriculum, especially in the development of additional demographically targeted New Warrior Training Adventures.
Our purpose as an organization is to create a world where men take individual and collective responsibility for our shared future by initiating and supporting them on a path of emotional maturity, spiritual awareness and deepening community. Self-awareness, increased connection and compassion, emotional intelligence, accountability, and purpose are key to this mission.
